This year has been such a wonderful for me in many ways.I spent few months travelling with my husband myself and our dog Raven. We bought a caravan and hit the road visiting most beautiful and interesting places in Wales 🏴 meeting amazing humans.
Our trip resulted in unforgettable memories and beautiful photos that will be an inspiration for my paintings for a long time.
Life is short, & moments are precious.
The magic and mystery is all around us. I love nature and that people are light, wave and particle. I'm inspired by things that can't be seen, yet make up the fabric of our human experience. I am compelled to speak the names of things unspeakable, with a voice that is seen, but not heard’.
I am also deeply honoured to live and work closely to the sea and mountains which it’s a great inspiration to my art.
]]>My three main collections include standard Giclee prints available on both Fine Art Paper and Cotton canvas. Hand embellished gallery wrapped canvas prints and Framed Giclee canvas prints which can also be Hand embellished. Each collection made from a selection of my own unique artwork directly reproduced in-house from one of my original oil paintings and limited to runs of 100 of each edition. With something for every setting weather it be a Centre Piece for you home or a gift for a true art lovers collection or simply something to brighten up the spaces in your hospitality business or other types of work place.
What makes a print a Fine Art Giclee?
What makes a piece of digital art "High End" and there for more desirable to collectors and art lovers? The answer to these questions lies in the artworks origins and the way in which they are produced. A high quality Giclee or Fine art Print would usually be expected to meet a certain criteria as follows.
My Standard Giclee Prints
My standard prints come in 2 media formats, printed on either Fine Art Paper or Quality Cotton Canvas. Lower cost and very versatile these types of prints can look just as appealing as décor in your home, While both also offer a great way to brighten up commercial spaces on a budget. Ideal for business settings within the Hospitality sectors like B&B and Hotel Rooms as well as Office Spaces and customer waiting areas. Prints on paper are typically supplied rolled, ready to be mounted and/or displayed in a frame if you choose. While Canvas prints will be stretched and gallery wrapped on to wooden frames.
What about my Embellished prints?
Art lovers and Collectors buy art not as an investment but because they love it and want to own it. Originals are of course more desirable but if a collector loves a particular piece of art and the original is no longer available a high quality Embellished Giclee can offer a second chance to own that piece of art. When embellished, a Giclee stands out and has so much more detail they look more like the original painting. They are better simply because it adds to the complexity and uniqueness of the piece and people will certainly notice it! A seemingly flat piece of art can come alive with the right embellishment and fit in perfectly with any true art lovers collection. All my embellished prints are supplied on canvas either as standard gallery wraps or with decorative wooden frames.
How are Embellishing Techniques applied?
Embellishing techniques are as unique as the artists themselves – some use oil paints while others use clear gesso, some have a great deal of texture while others apply a thin layer of paint. My prints are embellished using the same brush and knife techniques used to produce my original oil paintings, meaning the canvas has more texture and dimension when it is embellished and looks more like an original. And although these are reproductions each one is unique in its own way, both serigraphs and Giclee prints can be embellished and supplied as a standard Gallery Wrap or Framed wall art. A quality frame can offer greater protection for the art and increased aesthetic appeal.
Limited or Open Edition Prints, What's the difference?
Limited Edition Reproductions of and Original Artwork are endorsed and authenticated by the original artist. Personally signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity as proof it is a genuine limited reproduction. The limited run length will usually be predetermined before the edition is made available.
Open Edition Reproductions are not limited to set number of prints but usually are still signed and authenticated by the original artist. These are generally less desirable to collectors and there for less valuable and more suited as décor in a commercial setting rather than a private collection.

Now, as I’ve grown I’ve learned not to regret the people or situations that’s have caused certain negative feelings or at that time filled me with grief, shame, guilt and anger. I have learned valuable lessons from every experience, and for that I bow deeply in gratitude.
]]>Ewa Czarniecka is another of our wonderful artists. Self-taught, Ewa moved to the UK in 2002 to become a professional artist and has attained international recognition for her truly beautiful artwork. If you see a wallpaper you love, you can shop for it directly by clicking on the image. We had a quick catch up with Ewa and asked her a couple of things you might like to know…
Talk us through your typical working day…
A typical day for me begins at 8am when I get straight to work with a coffee in hand. I often break around midday to enjoy a walk in the beautiful Welsh countryside with my husband but I get straight back into my work until around 4pm.
What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Growing up I wanted to be a sportswoman or athlete, a high jumper in particular. I was quite successful in the sporting field but where I come from there is little support for young people to pursue a sporting career so unfortunately my career here ended. I had always known that I had a passion for art but never thought to take it further. It wasn’t until I was around 13 I decided to pursue painting and take it seriously.
What or who inspired you to become an artist?
I don’t quite remember who or what inspired me and there was no particular event that inspired me to become an artist. Since I was a child, I’ve always carried a strong feeling and need to create. I suppose I took inspiration from my old masters and great teachers who helped me define my technique and find my path but I think it’s my inner need to create that is the biggest and most important inspiration to my work.
What is your favourite piece of art that you’ve ever created?
I don’t have a favourite piece of art. Creating a piece of art is a very patient process and I’ve created so many pieces now that it would be impossible to choose.
Is there anything that you don’t like about your job?
There’s absolutely nothing that I don’t enjoy about my job - it’s a perfect life for me, especially now I have my beautiful big studio in South Wales.
What's your dream job - the one job you'd love to have if you weren't doing what you're doing now?
If I wasn’t an artist now, I would have loved to have pursued my career in sport as a high jumper. I also love books, movies and culture so perhaps I would have gone down a different creative route.
What’s the most unusual item on your work station?
I don’t have a desk as such - my studio is huge but I do have plenty of sculptures around my studio by fellow artists.

Fauves was a loose group of early twentieth-century artist also called 'the wild beasts'.
One of my favourite artist Henri Matisse was among others creator of the group whose members shared the use of intense colour as a vehicle for describing light and space, and who redefined pure colour and form as means of communicating the artist's emotional state. The paintings of the Fauves were characterised by seemingly wild brush work and strident colours while their subject matter had a high degree of simplification and abstract.
After many years being afraid of colour now I am absolutely in love with boldly coloured canvases affirmation reflections of colour is something I cherish
"Artists can colour the sky red because they know it's blue. Those of us who aren't artists must colour things the way they really are or people might think we're stupid." - Jules Feiffer

Driven on by my adventurous spirit always seeking to create something original and unique I found Afon Twrch a river which rises in the Black Mountain absolutely fascinating.Fast and bouncy in big water; lots of weirs. At lost levels, all the weirs are runnable, the biggest being a sloping weir directly under the bridge in Ystalyfera.I like to work in natural light because the shadows are so different... colours are amazing ...movement of light and dark that can so drastically change...I grew up surrounded with nature, mountains and the forest are my constant inspiration am really grateful and honoured to have my studio here in small village called Cwmllynfell .....

My best paintings yet to come....

The painting moved me and overwhelmed me emotionally. And so for my first painting I attempted to imitate it. Obviously it wasn't very good. But that experience was my first step in my artistic journey.
From a young age I always wanted to be a professional sports woman. I actually jumped 175cm in the high jump would you believe it? But even when I would travel for athletics camp I always took my canvases and painted. The other athletes took to calling me Ewa the artist. And eventually painting took my heart completely.
I attended university in Poland studying art, but I didn't really like it there. I'm quite a shy person, and I felt everyone there was very confident and quite overpowering. Maybe I was a little too sensitive? But it just wasn't quite right for me at the time. Around the same time I met who was to become my future husband and we decided to move to London.
London was amazing for me. It's where I first started selling my work. There is a street called bayswater road in Hyde park where on Sunday's artists would display their work on the parks railings, which is where I started out.
I would paint everyday. I was applying to show my work in some galleries, but was constantly rejected. I shut myself in my little studio and just painted more. I wasn't getting any recognition, but I was still an artist, and so I painted.
This was quite a dark time for me. But in hindsight it was very beneficial. It hardened me to the industry and gave me an opportunity to practice, experiment and reach a new height in my work.
Eventually it was my husband who helped me get out of the studio and put my work on display again. We started to travel to art fairs up and down the UK, and to my surprise I started to have a lot of success.
My work was selling. I was appearing in art magazines and catalogues and critics were staring to write about me, in a nice way. Everything was going well, but I still felt that something was stopping my work from reaching its true potential. And as much as I loved London and everything the city had given me, I felt it was the problem. Which leads me onto now, the new chapter of my life and work.
My husband, myself and our 3 cats made the bold move of moving to the beautiful Welsh Brecon Beacons.
Where finally I feel like everything is in line to allow me to paint with no barriers or distractions. It's been a long journey to get to this point, but it's taken time to realise what I need as an artist to be consistently inspired. I still feel as excited about painting as I did when I was that 13 year old girl seeing Linke's work for the first time, yet now I have a whole lifetime of experience and practice to help me realise my vision.
.
My style is something between abstract and Impressionism. I've always been been drawn to strong, rich colours. It sounds silly, but I like it when the painting screams. I've always heard paintings as sounds and seen sounds and paintings. And listening to emotional music is often the starting point for many of my pieces.
Depth is a characteristic of much of my work. I tend to paint in layers, and the build up of these layers helps give the impression of depth. As well as using thick oils and palette knifes adding to the rich texture.
I have to admit I spend most of my time painting and I don't have any weird and wonderful hobbies. But I like long walks, especially now I live in such a beautiful part of Wales. I enjoy movies and cooking, and of course playing with my 3 beautiful cats.
If you'd like to find out more about my art please come and visit me at evaart.net where you can view my latest work and contact me directly.
I really hope you enjoy this short film about me and my studio, I have been painting for over 20 years and art is my true passion...its been a long journey where I am now ...but it was worth every minute!

]]>Mumbles marks the beginning of the Gower Peninsula’s coastline. It’s a well-loved area of Swansea, and when you go there, it’s clear to see why!
There’s plenty of charm in the peaceful countryside of Rural Swansea.
Many peaceful walks will welcome you, whether it’s a short stroll or a longer walk around.

SUBJECT: QUESTION REGARDING 'SUNDAY MORNING'
Hello Ewa. I really love your Sunday Morning painting. Just wondered where you were in London and whether I am near enough to you to view it. I would hang it in my hall and am concerned the sky would be a little dark. I wouldn't want to spend this much and not be happy!
Look forward to hearing from you.
